Zazubean Hottie Chili & Cinnamon Chocolate: Hot Hot Hot

Yay for the local Canadian chocolate manufacturers! They are numerous and they come up with cool flavors. The Hottie Chili & Cinnamon dark chocolate with Yerba Mate by Zazubean (Vancouver) is just right for those fed up with sticky-sweet milk treats and want something harder and stronger.

Zazubean brand was invented by a group of friends, women with a passion for healthy lifestyle and eco foods. Zazubean chocolate is produced in an organic, fair-trade manner and sparkles with inventiveness. It will never let boredom into your sweet-tooth routine. By now, there's a dozen funky flavors. Like 55% cacao pomegranate and hazelnut Sassy chocolate, 65% cacao sea salt and fig Kiki, 73% cacao mint and cocoa nibs Lunatic and even more creative options.

I have recently got introduced to this fun and inventive brand with a Hottie bar, an energetic blend of chili and cinnamon on a firm base of 71% cacao chocolate with Yerba mate. Dark chocolate and pepper combination is one of my all-time favorites. I get literally insulted when I see the promise of a black pepper attack on the package and then get no more than a faint mirage of hotness (no more pepper-y Frey swiss chocolate!)

Hershey Store in Niagara Falls, A Kingdom of Chocolatey Sweetness

Monobrand confectionery boutiques have always had a special effect on my sweet tooth's subtle senses. I've already been in the M&Ms palace in Shanghai (hopefully I'll post about that a bit later) and in September 2015 I've visited a Hershey store in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

The shop carries lots of Hershey's chocolate varieties, numerous Hershey's Kisses sets, as well as some Hershey-themed pastry and lots of memorabilia like mugs, pillows and tee-shirts. Reese's peanut butter confectionery is also here. Didn't taste it as I can't stand peanut butter :)

Being a doll collector I couldn't help making this shot. This is a South Korean limited edition designer's vinyl doll Kukuclara.

Tiny drop-like Hershey's Kisses wiggling the ribbony tails playfully in a TV ad were a sweet memory of almost any post-Soviet kid, as Hershey's chocolates were among the first Western confectionery that flooded the young Russian market after the Perestroika. No doubt that Hershey's Kisses are nostalgic. (By the way, it's rather difficult to find them in Russia now).

For my current likings Hershey chocolate is too sweet, the darker the better and salt and pepper please! But how can one resist to have a kind of a flashback - and to treat the inner kid with a bag of "foreign treats"! In the Niagara Falls Hershey store I got a pack of caramel Hershey's Kisses. Still too sweet but I sent this sweetness to that little born-in-USSR girl so hungry for new impressions and unable to afford fashionable American sweets on a daily and even a weekly basis.

Hershey chocolate brand is among the oldest ones in America. It was founded by the Pennsylvania entrepreneur Milton Hershey in late 1800s. He started his first candy business in 1876 but the chocolate was first added to his sweets only in 1894. Beside manufacturing confectionery, Milton Hershey was a philantropist and paid much attention to education of others. Hershey's chocolate is wide-spread in North America and is really popular. One of the recent news of Hershey is the introduction of heat-resistent chocolate bars (smell Willy Wonka's magical laboratoty?) for spacemen and soldiers. Just wow!!!

Ниагара Фоллс - магнит для туристов со всего мира. И с канадской стороны Ниагара смотрится гораздо интереснее, чем с американской. На канадской стороне днем и ночью бурлит жизнь, крутится колесо обозрения, шумят рестораны, зазывают парки развлечений... И совсем недалеко от водопадов по соседству друг с другом находятся две культовых чревоугодных локации, которые не могли бы отличаться друг от друга больше: Хард Рок Кафе и монобрендовый магазин шоколада Херши (Reese's там же, но я не выношу арахисовое масло, поэтому не пробовала :)).

Помимо обширного выбора шоколада Hershey, знаменитых капелек Hershey's Kisses, разнообразных сладостей Reese's и печенек с пирожными, для приготовления которых задействовано вышеперечисленное, тут можно купить всяческие сувениры - кружки, майки, сумки, подушки и т.д. и т.п.

Для меня шоколад Херши сладковат, тем более - стандартно-молочные Хершиз Киссес. Взяла на пробу карамельные конфеты Hershey's Kisses. Попослипательная вещь, но - дань ностальгии. Многие помнят, как в послеперестроечные времена появилась та реклама с конфетками-капельками, игриво крутящими своими "хвостиками", и как желанны были эти конфеты. Так что с приторной сладостью карамельных "поцелуев" я послала лучи любви себе-ребенку, который, конечно, очень и очень редко по тем временам мог угоститься чем-то подобным...

Имбирный шоколад Les Chocolats de Chloe из Канады

Если бы существовал чемпионат для едоков имбиря, я бы поборолась за место в тройке. Добавляю его в овощные соки, завариваю с чаем (да и отдельно тоже), делаю домашние имбирные лимонады такой консистенции, что ложка стоИт. Конечно, мимо имбирного шоколада я пройти не смогла. А за его доставку особая благодарность возлюбленному, при возвращении в Петербург из Монреаля великодушно пожертвовавшему изрядную долю места в ручной клади под разнообразные иностранные шоколадки, которых у нас тут нет. Так что можно ему присудить звание почетного информационного спонсора блога ПроСладости.ру :)

Поскольку бойфренд абсолютно нешоколадоеден, пришлось мониторить монреальские кладези самой. Да, неплохо живут, сыто. Много и поставщиков, и местных шоколатье. Les Chocolats de Chloe - весьма заслуженная уже компания, действует с 2003 года и основана Хлоей Жерве-Фредетт, которая до того несколько лет работала в ресторанном бизнесе.
